Winter Ski 2019/20 – 10 UK city flights to Grenoble Alpes Isère Airport

This winter 2019/20 sees three new ski flights introduced from the UK to Grenoble Alpes Isère airport making short breaks to Isère a possibility.

Ski resorts near Grenoble Airport

New flights from East Midlands, Bristol and more flights from London Gatwick open up ski resorts in the Vercors and Chartreuse ski areas of the Isère department.

Easily reached in less than two hours from Grenoble Alpes Isère airport, the Isère department includes 23 ski resorts and more than 1,200 km of slopes,

Save valuable holiday days without taking a full week off to enjoy the mountains. Ski weekends are now possible from London Gatwick by leaving on a Thursday and back on a Sunday – just the ticket for those looking for a weekend ski blast.

The beautiful alpine resorts of Vaujany, Alpe d’Huez and Les Deux Alpes are the perfect destinations for a snow sports holiday.  The smaller resorts of Villard de Lans, Corrençon, Chamrousse, Les 7 Laux, as well as Oisans and Belledonne, are closer still to the airport.

By picking a resort with short transfers from the airport, savvy skiers can squeeze in an extra half day – or even full day – on the slopes. The slopes of all local resorts are easily accessible by tour operator transfer, hire car and regular coach services which run directly from the airport.

Grenoble city break

With the new flights from London Gatwick, a city break in Grenoble is also now an option. Grenoble is a thriving modern city offering heritage and natural beauty, and you can add in skiing in one of the local resorts such as Chamrousse just thirty minutes away.

Stroll through Grenoble’s food markets of Les Halles Sainte-Claire or enjoy a spot of shopping at the popular Caserne de Bonne shopping mall. The highlight of a stay in Grenoble is the view from the Bastille fortress. Take the urban cable car for far-reaching panoramas across the city and beyond.

Flights to Grenoble

Weekly flights on a Saturday from East Midlands airport with Jet2 run from 21 December 2019 to April 2020. The new route from Bristol with Ryanair operates from January to March 2020 on Saturdays. And easyJet adds extra frequency with flights from London Gatwick on Thursdays.

Skiers can fly into Grenoble most days of the week from London airports, and weekly from 10 other cities including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Dublin and Guernsey, with easyJet, Jet2, British Airways, Ryanair and Wizz Air.

There are several direct shuttle services available from the terminal taking skiers to the resorts of Alpe d’Huez, Les Deux Alpes and Chamrousse (Sat only), as well as stops in Grenoble city centre, Bourg d’Oisans and Rochetaillee to connect to other resorts in the area.
